This course will provide Safety Risk Management (SRM) practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary for ensuring the successful application of the SRM process to NAS changes. At the end of the course, participants will be able to: Define the characteristics of a safety culture and its importance Describe the FAA ATO Safety Management System (SMS) and its importance Discuss roles and responsibilities within the SMS Discuss the relationship between ATO and SRM Describe and implement the SRM process Use hazard analysis processes to analyze risk Discuss continuous monitoring strategies to track and monitor safety risks Describe the SRM Document (SRMD) approval process The target audience for this item are individuals responsible for assessing risk and preparing a safety case for NAS changes. This includes FAA employees and support contractors who are directly involved with amending or developing new local or NAS-wide procedures or modifying existing or developing new NAS systems.
