(20000114) Flight Standards Service (FS) Emergency Action (EAP)and Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) Annual
COURSE 2021-01-26
This course is a part of the Flight Standards Service (FS) Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) program. The EAP and FPP Annual Review educates employees about the types of emergencies that may occur and trains them in the proper course of action. Variables that affect the EAP and FPP for a workplace are the size of the workplace and workforce, processes used, materials handled, and the availability of on-site or outside resources. Ensure FS employees understand the function and elements of your emergency action plan, including types of potential emergencies, reporting procedures, alarm systems, evacuation plans, and shutdown procedures. Discuss any special hazards you may have on-site such as flammable materials, toxic chemicals, radioactive sources, or water-reactive substances. Clearly communicate to employees who will be in charge during an emergency to minimize confusion. Natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and floods), as well as man-made emergencies (fires, bomb threats, medical emergencies), can occur anywhere. Knowing the actions to take in advance and implementing them quickly in case of an emergency, are key to minimizing injuries, property damage, and loss of life. In accordance with the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.35, 1910.36, 1910.37, and 1910.38 this training has been established to inform and train our employees about emergency escape procedures, fire detection, fire prevention, protection, and suppression activities, personnel accountability, medical and rescue responsibilities, and response to other hazardous situations. Upon completion of this training, a copy of the training completion certificate or certified roster shall be provided to the supervisor and/or training POC so completion can be entered into the employee's eLMS learning history.
