This course number is to be used to document Overhead Hoists Rigger training. This training is for employees, who, as part of job assignments, will operate overhead hoists such as cranes, derricks, gantry cranes, jibs, and slings and utilize rigging for material handling including activities of moving or lifting equipment for storage, use, transport, and disposal. Participants will be able to identify hazards associated with the operation of overhead hoists and the key procedures to control identified hazards. Participants will be able to demonstrate crane inspection methods prior to the operation of the equipment.Following completion of training participant will be defined as a qualified rigger - a rigger who meets the criteria for a qualified person. A qualified person is: a person who, by possession of a recognized degree, certificate, or professional standing, or who by extensive knowledge, training and experience, successfully demonstrated the ability to solve/resolve problems relating to the subject matter, the work, or the project. Upon completion of this training, employee should maintain training certificate and provide a copy to their supervisor and/or training POC to be entered into their eLMS learning history.
