COURSE 2017-08-11
Ground-Based NavAids for the National Airspace System (NAS) The major focus of the training is limited to basic familiarization of terminal instrument procedures (TERPS) as it pertains to instrument approach procedures. Areas briefly covered in this course are obstacles, units of measurement, aircraft categories, aeronautical charts and publications, GPS (RNAV), National Airspace System (NAS) and an overview of basic procedure development. This specialized training is required to equip CC Operations personnel and field ATSS with the knowledge and skills to keep the NAS operating with minimal impact and to assist them in effectively preventing, resolving, and/or mitigating equipment failures across the NAS. This training will enable them to identify systemic effects of equipment outages and how they relate to terminal procedures, thereby enhancing cost efficiency and safety in the NAS.
