This course documents the mandatory Annual Respirator Fit Test required by 29 CFR 1910.134(f) for all personnel assigned to use tight-fitting, negative, or positive pressure respirators. Consistent with OSHA standards, to satisfy the practical requirements, participants must demonstrate a mastery of their assigned respirator(s) by showcasing correct fitting techniques to achieves an effective seal with the specific make, model, style, and size of respirator they will utilize in the field. This interactive demonstration serves as the final verification of the employee's ability to protect their health effectively in hazardous atmospheres. To ensure comprehensive compliance, a FAA Form 3900-45 (Fit Test) must be finalized for each assigned respirator. Upon successful completion, the instructor must ensure course completion is reflected in the employee's LMS learning history and must submit a Form 3900-45 FAA Fit Test, for each validated respirator make and model to 9-FAA-OCCMED-Rec-Submit@faa.gov for inclusion in the Employee Medical Folder (EMF). Complete educational and administrative resources for this training are hosted on the ATO EOSH Instructor Training Library to facilitate compliance and standardize employee training.
