| Training is required to increase the number of FAA personnel certified to perform the startup portion of EG replacement projects. The purpose of the startup part of an EG project is (1) to program the new equipment to match the specific site design and (2) to demonstrate that the newly installed EG is functioning as designed. Currently, there are approximately seven FAA personnel that have the required certification. Along with this, the certified personnel are all located in Oklahoma City, OK. Typically, a representative from the local Kohler distributor is scheduled to perform the startup procedure and to program equipment for site specific design. This course is the first step to bring this capability in house. | |||
