This course is an external to FAA course for employees who operate soft-tracked over-thesnow vehicles designed for transportation such as snowmobiles and snowcats. The course will include, but will not be limited to, the following topics: Types of cold weather shelters Making fires in frigid conditions Cold weather hazards (e.g., predators, adverse weather conditions, avalanches, deep snow/tree wells) Water and food sources Navigation skills (e.g., satellite navigation system) Cold weather clothing and layering options PPE and safety equipment
