Part 1 (WBT). This course is intended for manufacturing and maintenance designees issuing airworthiness certifications for aircraft. Lessons include FAA Internet; FAA Representative: Privileges, Responsibilities, and Limitations; Laws and Regulations; FAA Publications; Conformity Inspection; FAA Order 8130.21; Uses of FAA Form 8130-3; Designees at Other Locations; Standard Airworthiness Certification; Special Airworthiness Certification; Replacement and Amendment of Airworthiness Certificates; Special Flight Permits; Aging Airplane Inspections and Records Review; and Export. Students must score 70% on the Post-Test to receive credit for this course. Average completion time is 20-24 hours. Part 2 (Classroom Seminar).This course, also targeted toward manufacturing and maintenance designees performing airworthiness certifications, consists of nine hands-on projects in which students simulate designee job tasks by performing a conformity inspection and completing application packages for Export, Special Flight Permits, and Standard and Special airworthiness certifications, as well as replacements and amendments to airworthiness certifications. Students must complete all projects to receive credit for this course. This is a 3-day classroom course.
