Provide a detailed understanding of blast and its effects in the physical security arena. This will be followed with a discussion of how the current FAA mitigation theories came to be and where we are headed based on new technologies and ISC standards. Topics include blast cause and effects to cover blast loads, blast pulse, and effects of blast loading of various structures and mitigating factors. A history of how the FAA blast program was formed and implemented to its present state and then a look in the future of the FAA blast program. This will include a review of the new blast card recommendations and what they really mean, and implementing blast designed based on specific FAA construction standards.
