This course is for the following Flight Standards (AFS) personnel: (1) General Aviation Operations and Airworthiness Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASIs) with oversight of Designated Pilot Examiners (DPE) or Technical Personnel Examiners (DME and DPRE). (2) Office managers and supervisors for those ASIs; (3) Air Carrier Operations Inspectors who oversee Designated Aircraft Dispatch Examiners (DADE) or Aircrew Program Designees (APD); (4) the Principal Operations Inspectors (POI) for those ASIs listed under numbers 1-3 above; and (5) Aviation Safety Technicians (ASTs) who support ASIs. =======>The focus of this course is on the practical application of the processes for designee oversight and management and provides instruction on the skills needed designee selection, appointment, renewal, and termination. This course emphasizes designee file management, guidance reference, best practices, and the conduct of designee surveillance. The inspection of Computer Testing Centers (CTC) is also included. ********The knowledge-based prerequisite to this course is the Web-based FAA27100091, AFS Overview of Personnel Certification Designee Management.******** NOTE: It is recommended that AFS field and regional office managers, supervisors or POIs who oversee target audience ASIs also attend this training. ASTs who support designee oversight are eligible to attend this course at the discretion of their office managers on a decision-tree basis.
