The participant will be able to: Understand basics of automatic flight control systems; FAR's/AC's related to automatic flight control design certification; Important concepts and approaches used in design for safety and protection against failures; basics of aerodynamic flights controls and consequences for AFC design, concepts of stability, and trim and control augmentation functions; AFC system architecture evolution; various modes of AFCS; Overview of control systems theory; Fly-by-wire system concepts; and what's coming in the future.
