NOTE: This course replaces version 2, NextGen Advanced Communications, which was previously delivered as an ATN broadcast closed caption briefing, accessible from the FAA Video-to-You (VOD) network. This course, version 3, has been converted to an eLearning self-study course now available to FAA employees through eLMS. The purpose of this course is to provide an overview into the futuristic approach to Air Traffic Services (ATS) Air/Ground (A/G) Data Communications as foreseen by NextGen. AUDIENCE: New and experienced FAA systems engineers (ASEs), and FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) who review and approve data communications systems; Industry communications engineers who develop communications systems for air traffic services.
