This 60-minute Introduction to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) course goal is for the workforce to gain an appreciation of RCA through an introduction of concepts, tools, and illustrative examples. This on-line training can be reviewed as desired. Knowledge checks are a part of each lesson. After completing the course, the learner will be able to: 1) define an RCA; 2) describe the characteristics of an RCA; 3) identify the need or causes that trigger an RCA; 4) describe components of a problem statement; 5) describe the analytical approaches to produce a root cause analysis; and 6) identify mitigation approaches to resolve problem causes. This course prepares learners for advanced RCA courses. This item provides 1 hour of credit toward FAAs continuing management education (CME) requirement for managers. This is an organizational POR (Person of Responsibility) Curriculum Course.
