This web-based course provides airworthiness inspectors with information on ground icing events and methods of deicing/anti-icing aircraft. Participants will learn about working with principal operations inspectors (POI) to approve and conduct surveillance on an operator's ground deicing/anti-icing program. Topics include: deicing terminology; methods of deicing/anti-icing; fluid types and characteristics; application procedures; deicing equipment; holdover times; deicing data collection; fluid receipt inspections; safety/storage considerations; and surveillance duties associated with an operator's deicing program.
