The course is focused on evaluation of an operator submitted RVSM maintenance program. Operators can self-certify for RVSM operations, and there is no inspector activity involved. That requirement was removed and there is no inspector associated action as the result.** The course objective is to provide the knowledge and skills that GA airworthiness AW ASIs need to approve and monitor an operators RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum) authorization for operations under parts 91, 91K, 125, and 135. Although operations inspectors are responsible for authorizing operators for RVSM, this authorization is accomplished through close coordination with maintenance inspectors and avionics inspectors. GA airworthiness ASIs are concerned with the operators aircraft avionics, maintenance program, and RVSM error reporting.
