| ** Course being deactived per course owner -The content is incorrect, the scope does not apply to an inspector function, and it is not applicable to ASIs. The course is focused on evaluation of an operator submitted RVSM maintenance program. Operators can self-certify for RVSM operations, and there is no inspector activity involved. That requirement was removed and there is no inspector associated action as the result.** The course objective is to provide the knowledge and skills that GA airworthiness AW ASIs need to approve and monitor an operators RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum) authorization for operations under parts 91, 91K, 125, and 135. Although operations inspectors are responsible for authorizing operators for RVSM, this authorization is accomplished through close coordination with maintenance inspectors and avionics inspectors. GA airworthiness ASIs are concerned with the operators aircraft avionics, maintenance program, and RVSM error reporting. As part of an inspection team, ASIs are responsible for the oversight of RVSM operations when the: Operator applies for RVSM authorization Operator adds new aircraft/equipment or routes to its current operations FAA revises requirements regarding RVSM operations | |||
