In this course the student will learn to distinguish between a repair and an alteration. The course covers the differences between major and minor repairs and alterations, how major repairs and major alterations are approved, and what data is required to substantiate those approvals. It explains the alternative types of approvals available, and fabrication parts in support of repairs and alterations. The student will learn what is required for inclusion in a data package to support major repairs and major alterations, and is given particular notes to include with the data to specify the data approval. Finally, the course outlines the authorities available to delegated organizations that approve major repairs and major alterations. NOTE: This course replaces FAA27200027 (Rev 1 - 8/5/2010).
