This course provides FAA Aviation Safety Engineers (ASEs) with foundational training on their roles and responsibilities throughout the certification process for aeronautical product design approvals. Organized around major phases of certification, the course highlights ASE contributions to technical data evaluation, regulatory compliance, and team coordination. Participants will learn how to apply certification policy, support the establishment of the certification basis, review compliance strategies, and engage with internal and external stakeholders. The course also addresses ASE roles in oversight, compliance data review, test witnessing, and continue operation safety (COS). Internal Audience: This course is intended for Aircraft Certification Employees. External Audience: This course is not available for non-FAA personnel. Prerequisite(s): None
