The course covers the differences between major and minor repairs and alterations. The following topics will be discussed: Who may approve repairs and alterations, definitions, approvals, repair specifications, repairs to Technical Standard Order (TSO) articles, approving repairs, approving alterations, approved data, parts, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), notes for compliance findings, and mistakes to avoid. Internal Audience: This course is available for AIR Employees who manage DERs or ODA Engineering UMs authorized in Repairs and Alterations. External Audience: This course is required for DERs and DER applicants seeking appointment of a special delegation for Major Repairs and/or Major Alterations and ODA Unit Members seeking authority for Major Repairs and/or Major Alterations within the ODA.
