| This course provides information about the formation of the TALPA ARC and the result of the TALPA ARC. Subjects include an overview of Part 25 and Part 25 AC guidelines, TALPA ARC activity and the aviation industry and the final FAA TALPA implementation plan. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: Identify the industry issues that led to the formation of the TALPA ARC; Identify the FAA regulations and policies that led to the formation of the TALPA ARC; Explain how the TALPA ARC was formed; Identify the recommendation of the TALPA ARC; Define components of the Runway Conditions Assessment Matrix (RCAM); Explain why the FAA issued the Part 25 ACs; Explain the difference between TALPA ARC ACs and Part 25 Airworthiness and Parts 121 or 135 Operational Rules; Identify the reasons the dispatch landing distance may not be valid at the time of arrival; Define the recommended air distance allowance; Identify for what the reverse thrust credit is allowed; List TALPA ARC recommendations to manufacturers for providing data; Identify the TALPA ARC principles adopted by the aviation industry; Identify the documents to be created or revised, for airline operators, airplane manufacturers, and the FAA; and Describe the Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) language changes. Internal Audience: This course is intended for AIR DER Managing Specialist and Engineering OMT members managing designees authorized in Flight Test.
