This course provides information about the requirements for powerplant valve controls located in the flight deck on transport category airplanes. This course also describes Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 25.1141(f) and recurring compliance issues associated with powerplant valve controls. Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to: Define 'powerplant' as it pertains to the scope of Part 25.901(a); Identify the regulatory requirements for Part 25.1141(f), Amendments 25-40; Identify the regulatory requirements for Part 25.1141(f), Amendments 25-115; Define the intent of Part 25.1141(f), Amendments 25-40 and 25-115; Identify areas or installations where the standard needs to be considered; Define the acceptable methods of compliance to Part 25.1141(f); Define 'indication'; Describe methods to prevent common failure modes of powerplant valve controls; and Define the Transport Airplane Issues List (TAIL) for equivalent level of safety. Internal Audience: This course is intended for AIR DER Managing Specialist and Engineering OMT members managing designees authorized in Propulsion.
