This course provides initial training on the basic principles involved in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Course material includes definition of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), characteristics of UAS and associated elements, requirements for public and civil UAS operations, operational requirements necessary for airspace authorization, aircraft registration, and Remote Identification (RID), and FAA policies for UAS operation. Internal audience include AIR ASIs and AFS ASIs. This is required training for AIR ASIs prior to completion of (FAA27200132), Special Airworthiness Certification of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Optionally Piloted Aircraft. External audience includes manufacturing designee applicants and designees. This is required training for designees Prior to Certification Activity relative to FUNCTION CODES 70 81.
