| This is the FAA's basic, introductory course that gives you a simple overview of plain language. It is a mandatory course that federal law says all federal employees and contractors must take at least once during their careers. This course will describe the Federal Plain Writing Act of 2010 and introduce you to the Federal Plain Language Guidelines. It will use the FAA Plain Language Tool Kit to teach you the word and format tools of plain language. Plain language is a special skill it takes time and practice to learn. This course covers only the basics and does not make you plain language writer. If you or your supervisor ask for it, you can take more advanced, custom training that will use the actual documents from your office and help you put those into plain language. | |||
