COURSE 2013-10-30
This course provides students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to effectively handle an aircraft emergency. It develops the students knowledge of basic firefighting and rescue principles. The course prepares the student to quickly respond to an aircraft crash site ready to suppress fuel spill fires, evacuate, and rescue passengers. The student will become proficient in extinguishing wheel, engine, interior cabin, and compartment fires. Instruction will be received in aircraft and airport familiarization, apparatus and equipment, planning and communications, aircraft fire fighting and rescue procedures, and hazardous materials. Students will receive live fire experience and training in accordance with FAR 139.319.
