Join Secretary Ray LaHood as the DOT Disability Resource Center (DRC) hosts an informative event aimed at increasing employment of individuals with disabilities at DOT. The event, Diversity and Inclusion: Hiring Individuals with Disabilities affirms the Secretarys commitment and will provide information, support and resources to help you achieve DOTs hiring goals. This event takes place on June 19 in the West Atrium of DOT Headquarters at 10:00 a.m. 11:30 a.m., and will also be webcast for those in the DOT Regional Offices. This event is the first of its kind for DOT, aimed specifically at giving hiring managers and human resource specialists a clear directive on increasing employment of individuals with disabilities, including those with targeted disabilities. The event will provide information, tools and resources to help support DOTs reaching its hiring goals. Secretary LaHood is scheduled to give remarks in support of Presidential Executive Order 13548 Increasing Federal Employment of Individuals with Disabilities, and will also speak in support of DOTs Five-Year Plan to Increase Employment of People with Disabilities and our Department-wide 3% hiring goal. In addition to the Secretarys remarks, special guest speakers include: Camille Hazeur, Director, Office of Civil Rights, DOT; Kareem Dale, Special Assistant to the President for Disability Policy; Veronica Villalobos, Director, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Office of Personnel Management and Sarah Mahoney, U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Recruitment Program
