| This facility familiarization training consists of on-site briefings and on-site review of various facilities at a launch or reentry site such as Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), Wallops Flight Facility (WFF), etc. The ultimate goal is for safety inspectors to understand how a launch or reentry site operates, the type of instrumentation used, safety analyses performed, and how all these aspects of a launch or reentry site interact to protect the public during FAA licensed or permitted operations.
