| The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the federal airport development planning process as contained in FAA Order 5090.5, Field Formulation of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) and the Airports Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP). It explains how airports are selected for the NPIAS and categorized; the planning process used to identify needed airport development for those airports; and how development is analyzed and prioritized for federal funding through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP). The training is broken into three modules with each module covering two chapters in the order. | |||
