This course provides a combination of hardware and software training for the FAA System Specialist in the operation and maintenance of Motorola C3 VHF / FM related equipment. Course consists of 16 hours of Academy Lecture and 32 hours of Academy Laboratory. Training includes operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, encryption - decryption, and configuration of handheld radios, mobile units, repeaters, and associated ancillary equipment. Please consider bringing your MDT if you have one. It can be used to interface with lab equipment, obtain current software and provide portable access to technical documentation. An MDT is optional and is not required to complete the class. Motorola equipment not taught in current course; APX Software, APX-7500 CONSOLETTE, KVL-4000, APX-6000 handheld radios, GTR-8000 Repeater, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) soon to be bought.
