This course provides training for Specialists on the Runway Status Lights (RWSL). This course is 136 hours with 25% Lecture and 75% Lab and includes 16 hours of DoP (88637001). The DoP is taken after successful completion of the EHOT course and is included in the course hours. System Key Performance and Certification Parameters that are not tested in the DoP will be individually tested in graded labs during the course. Instruction will include the use of applicable Maintenance Handbooks, Maintenance Requirements, Standards and Tolerances, Intervals, etc.; Use of TPR'S; and certification including Intervals, exceptions and Log Statement (s). Lecture subjects include System Operation, MT Operation, Series Cut Out Operation, Advanced Control Equipment Operation, Lighting Computer, Airfield Shelter Components, In-Pavements Components, Series Circuits, FLS Subsystem, RP Subsystem, Troubleshooting Procedures, Cab Control Panel and Tower Cab Control Assembly, Kill Switch Relay, Light Fixtures, Individual Light Controller, and Isolation Transformers. Lab subjects include performing System Operation, Performing periodic maintenance on RWSL Processor (RP) and Field Lighting System (FLS) Processor, Troubleshooting both RP Subsystem LRUS and FLS Subsystem LRUS, Troubleshooting Communications and Power Problems, Removing and Replacing Faulty LRUS, and Performing Corrective Maintenance Procedures.
