This course provides the theory of operations training for the Weather Message Switching Center Replacement (WMSCR) Linux (C00) update. Total length of course is 16 hours. Target Audience is Network Enterprise Management Center (NEMC) Airway Transportation System Specialists (ATSS) and 2nd Level Engineering Support. This Delta Training provides specialists with the changes deployed with SSM-WMSCR-106 WMSCR Linux. The specialist will gain knowledge of transition strategy, system design, application monitoring, application control, database replication, switchover and fault isolation. The student will become familiar with the technical documentation, interfaces, connections and architecture of the WMSCR system as well as roles and services that WMSCR provides within the National Airspace System (NAS). The course will cover monitoring tools, accessing servers and applications, log files generated and message flow used by WMSCR Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Switchovers, failovers, event and node messages, configuration/status, and fault isolation procedures will be discussed. In addition, the lesson material will review synchronization of the primary and secondary databases using Oracle Data Guard, how event messages are presented, and examine operating system failures and application software issues. The WMSCR Linux (C00) Delta training will deliver a clear understanding of the WMSCR roles, responsibilities, services, and general knowledge of the history to provide a fundamental baseline for the Network Enterprise Management Center (NEMC) specialist.
