The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the basic steps necessary to engineer and assign a Very High Frequency (VHF) or Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Air-to-Ground communications frequency. The objectives of this briefing include, but are not limited to: ATC Communications Facilities, VHF and UHF bands and their usage, the validation of a prospective VHF or UHF frequency for a new facility, the frequency engineering and assigning process, and potential issues that may occur if unauthorized changes are made to a frequency assignment's engineering parameters.
