This course provides training for Technical Operations System specialists and Engineers on the Common Terminal Digitizer (CTD) subsystem of the ASR-8 radar, and either the ATCBI-5 or Mode S Beacon systems. The course is 34 hours resident lecture, 48 hours resident laboratory, and 14 hours of testing. Course subjects include CTD subsystem Theory of Operation, Hardware and Software specifics of the Lowest Replaceable Units: UPS, Time Server, SCU, DMU, DRX, ISP, VSP, RDSP, Longport, Network LAN Switches, ACTELIS Modems, CAM PC and Clients with MRD. Lab subjects include Preventive, Corrective, Configuration, Key and Certification procedures. BIT/FIT diagnostic analysis and System Troubleshooting are also covered.
