| This technical workshop focuses on providing the skills and knowledge necessary for integration and standardization of network monitoring capabilities for Network Enterprise Management Center (NEMC) system specialists. The FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) Enterprise Services workshop will provide the basics of the FTI Network and Backbone and show how FAA systems and National Airspace System (NAS) services utilize the FTI network infrastructure as well as deliver an overview of the FTI Network architecture and hardware. The student will learn how to monitor, troubleshoot, report and coordinate FTI Ops IP network issues; understand the basics of the NAS Enterprise Service Gateway (NESG) and the NESG Boundary Protection Subnetwork (NBPS/Matrix); and understand Domain Name System (DNS) as a service deployed on the FTI Network. Finally, the workshop will provide a detail overview of Network Time Protocol (NTP) and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) while reviewing the network topology, architecture, system hardware, and monitoring and logging procedures. | |||
