This course provides the theory of operations training for the Integrated Enterprise Services Platform (IESP). The specialist will gain knowledge of system concepts, interconnectivity, hardware and software components which comprise the IESP system. IESP is a common platform on which Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) Data Acquisition System (ADAS) Regional ADAS Service Processor (RASP), National Airspace System (NAS) Messaging Replacement (NMR), & Weather Message Switching Center Replacement (WMSCR) reside. This course covers system and networking concepts which include legacy components, all of which would have common hardware, databases, and user interfaces using three layers: hardware, virtual, and system application. The IESP course takes the students through generic concepts and functions of several critical hardware devices that are utilized by the IESP system as well as software and networking models including the purpose of Active Directory (AD) which impacts the IESP system. The students will be able to identify and describe the functional roles of the hardware components of each rack and the interconnectivity of the hardware, software, networking, and virtualization from an architectural perspective. System access methods to components, network devices and various processes associated with working in a virtual environment will also be discussed. The course provides a basic knowledge to identify the different Groups, describe the access privileges assigned, and identify Group membership in the different IESP subsystems. Finally, the tasks of learning the basic monitoring functions and how to access and navigate through the Enterprise Service Monitoring (ESM)/System Wide Information Management (SWIM), Network Node Manager (NNMi), HP OpenView Operations Manager for Windows (OMW), and Business Service management (BSM) will be demonstrated.
