This course is for Technical Operations Specialists assigned to the Network Enterprise Management Center (NEMC) National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) Message Switching Network (MSN) facilities located at Atlanta - Georgia and Salt Lake City Utah, and National Flight Service & Weather Engineers (AJW-17). The training course provides the theory of operations training for the NADIN MSN system with a focus on the Air Traffic Message Handling System (AMHS). Total length of course is 24 hours; broken into 14 for theory of operations and 10 hours of hands-on laboratory. Training topics include: Air Traffic Services Message Handling System (AMHS) overview, AMHS routing, protocols utilized, SLC/ATL interactions, hardware platform, software components, AMHS operations, Isode Services Manager, AMHS start-up/shut-down, Control Position and AMHS troubleshooting. Hands-on laboratory subjects include: AMHS Familiarization with hardware and software components, AMHS Operations, Monitoring and Control including a shutdown and restart of the AMHS, and AMHS Troubleshooting. This training consists of 14 hours field lecture and 10 hours of field laboratory. Written final examination will be utilized.
