| This course will provide the skills and knowledge to all participants to properly use, inspect, maintain and store assigned respirators. It will also allow them to be able to describe key elements of the site-specific Respiratory Protection Program. Supervisors will know their roles and responsibilities associated with respiratory protection. Course should include, but not be limited to, the following topics: Applicable FAA, Federal, state and local regulations Facility Respiratory Protection Program Purpose, capabilities and limitations of respirators Effectiveness of respirator during emergency situations including respirator malfunction Use, care and maintenance of respirators Medical surveillance program Medical signs and symptoms that limit or prevent respirator effectiveness How to use the NIOSH Pocket Guide and an MSDS When retraining is required | |||
