This course shall provide all of the skills and knowledge to ensure certification in basic first aid. The ability to demonstrate skills to recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses. **Course should include, but not be limited to, the following topics: Applicable FAA, Federal, state and local regulations Information on First Aid kits and how to maintain them properly Proper PPE and who to maintain or destroy after use Recognizing emergencies Treatment of sudden illnesses, burns, shock, bleeding, exposure to temperature extremes, injuries to muscles, bones, and joints Liability Issues and the Good Samaritan Act Bloodborne pathogen awareness
