Advanced Metering Requirements and Best Practices is no-cost training that outlines fast-approaching Federal metering requirements, technologies, and best practices to help Federal agencies implement, measure, and monitor their progress. Federal agencies are in the midst of installing electric, natural gas, and steam meters to comply with Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 2005 and Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) 2007 requirements. Subject to cost effectiveness, all Federal buildings must be equipped with advanced electric meters by 2012 and with gas and steam meters by 2016. FEMP, through the O&M Working Group, is providing this symposium as an opportunity for Federal agencies to compare notes, learn from each other, and see what technology is available in the marketplace that will fill their needs. This one-day symposium (targeting Federal energy managers, contractors, and software and system providers) will consist of two sections. The morning session will consist of presentations by Federal agencies highlighting their successful applications of advanced metering, data analysis, and diagnostic software. The afternoon session will feature panel discussions by invited metering hardware and software providers highlighting the capabilities of such systems. The purpose of this educational forum is to provide information and exchange ideas.
