2-day course instruction on Static Transfer Switch. The program is designed to train local FAA site personnel in the basics of operating and troubleshooting of the FAA Static Transfer Switch. At the completion of the program, the attendee will be able to: a. Locate and identify function of system interconnections and circuit breakers b. Start up and shut down a Static Transfer Switch put the STS in bypass mode. c. Describe the basic operation of an STS and be able to recognize symptoms of input source problems and improper operation of the Static Transfer Switch. d. Front panel alarm indicators and their probable causes. e. State and demonstrate applicable safety precautions. f. Overview of replacement rational of major components and sub-assemblies of the Static Transfer Switch. It is intended that the formal training course be accomplished in a two-day period, 8 AM to 5 PM, for a total of 16 hours instruction. If needed, to accommodate FAA scheduling requirements or personnel changes, the class hours may be varied, within reason, to suit FAA requirements.
