Runway Status Lights (RWSL) is an automatic advisory safety system consisting of an RWSL Processor (RP) and a Field Lighting System (FLS) which includes Runway Entrance Lights (REL) and Takeoff Hold Lights (THL). The lights alert pilots and ground vehicle operators that a runway is unsafe to enter, cross or takeoff from. The course contains instruction on RWSL components, Cab Control Panel (CCP) user interface, RWSL Kill switch, RWSL lighting characteristics, Pilot/Vehicle operator responsibilities and RWSL ATC National procedures. Course length is 60 minutes and consists of lecture and power point presentation. An end of lesson test is administered at the end of the course.
