This 45-minute two-part briefing provides an overview of the structure and requirements of the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Safety Management System (SMS) and how the ATO coordinates with safety stakeholders to execute the Safety Risk Management (SRM) component of the SMS. This briefing describes the SRM process as an integral part of the system and presents strategies for promoting a robust safety culture within the ATO. It provides safety stakeholders with an understanding of their roles and responsibilities when participating in the ATO SRM process. This course is a pre-requisite for the ATO SRM Panel Member Workshop and is recommended for all ATO employees. It also available to all FAA employees for informational purposes in understanding the stakeholder role and ensuring the safety of the National Airspace System (NAS) when participating in the ATO SRM process. | |||
