| This is a combined conventional and computer-based course. The first hour is conventional classroom instruction designed to increase air traffic controllers"" awareness of factors affecting hearing and to improve listening skills. Specifically targeted is: attention to auditory information, factors that influence hearing and strategies to optimize paying attention to what is heard, especially when visual and auditory information compete for attention. The course is presented in a way that relates to the real world and uses similar concepts found in athletic improvement programs. The classroom instruction is followed by 10 hours of computer-based skill building scenarios. | |||
