This course will provide training to Air Traffic Control Specialists who will use the Universal Interlock Controller (UIC) Equipment. UIC provides a consolidated control and monitoring of airfield navigational equipment. Course topics include: Equipment Overview, Tower Control Display Unit (TCDU) Interface, TCDU Types, Approach Lighting Systems, Auxiliary Equipment, and System Alarm Conditions. Lab exercises include: Requesting TCDU Control of Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Approach Lighting System (ALS) Equipment, Controlling ILS and ALS Equipment, Acknowledging Alerts, Runway Visual Range (RVR), and Low Visibility Alarm Threshold (LVAT).
