Federal Acquisition Strategy Environment
COURSE
2012-08-22
This course focuses on teaching participants to identify key issues that can inhibit a project/program from moving forward and, once identified, how to change the environment across decision support systems to meet their department/agency needs. Using the knowledge and skills leaned in the Leading People for Strategic Execution in the Acquisition environment course and real-life example, case scenarios, individual and group activities, and analysis of current events, participants navigate a program---from prioritizing requirements and resources to overseeing program assessments at various stages in the federal acquisition process---through federal department/agency decision support systems to develop and execute a comprehensive acquisition solution. Participants gain, hone and apply needed decision support skills and competencies related to: conducting needs, gap, alternative, and issues analysis; assessing material and non-material approaches; conducting effectiveness, suitability, and critical technologies assessments; and monitoring and overseeing estimated costs, sensitivities, risk, and completion activities.
