This course is a part of the OSH program. The course will provide Hearing Conservation Trainers with HCP requirements for programs and it is designed to re-familiarize the HCP Trainers with the subject matter so they can continue to teach HCP at their office as required per the FAA 3900.66. This training meets the requirements of a refresher training course required to reinforce training concepts, re-familiarize trainers with the subject matter and staying current with updated equipment and standards. Topics covered in hearing conservation include: - What is hearing conservation, - How do we hear and effects of noise on hearing, - Hearing protective devices, their purpose, use, advantages, disadvantages, attenuation of various types, Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), and instruction on selection, fitting, use, and care. - Audiograms (hearing tests) , the purpose of audiometric testing, and an explanation of the test procedures, - Standard Threshold Shift (STS), what is an STS, what actions does HCP trainer need to perform, and recordkeeping, - The employee responsibilities as they pertain to this program, and - The purpose of the FS HCP Determination Form, who is responsible for completing it and where to send the completed forms. The HCP Trainer Refresher course provides qualified HCP Trainer with the additional refresher training necessary to continue to teach the HCP User courses, Standard Threshold Shift (STS) retraining, and annual training. This course is delivered using MS Teams or Zoom Meeting. The instruction will be an instructor-led presentation, with the learners involvement and participation being the key method of learning used throughout the training session.
