| This course number is to be used to document both the instructor-led training and hands-on portion of hearing conservation training for employees who who may be exposed during their work shift to noise levels at or above 85 dBA as an 8-hr time weighted average (TWA), and their immediate supervisors. At a minimum after receiving the training participants will be able to: describe key elements of a HCP; describe the purpose of hearing protectors, advantages, disadvantages, and attenuation of the various types; demonstrate the appropriate fitting, use, and maintenance of various hearing protectors; describe the purpose of audiometric testing and procedures; to describe the effects of noise on hearing and to define noise-induced hearing loss. Time length is as needed to complete course content. | |||
