This briefing will familiarize FAA and aviation industry participants with the flight validation process. The purpose of validation is the verification of all obstacle and navigation data, and assessment of flyability of the procedure. Validation normally consists of ground validation & flight validation. The target audience for this briefing is (1) industry personnel who are directly involved with flight and ground validation (e.g. service providers), and (2) FAA personnel who are directly associated with the FAA flight validation process and/or charged with the responsibility to qualify and provide oversight of non-FAA flight validation service providers. Before attending this briefing, participants should be familiar with the following FAA orders, notices and Advisory Circulars, and referenced current guidance and criteria: FAA Order 8900.1 Volume 11, Chapter 12 (as revised) AC 90-112, Development and Submission of Special Instrument Procedures to the FAA (as revised) AC 90-113, Instrument Flight Procedure Validation (IFPV) of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) (as revised)
