Course provides engineers with foundational software concepts and principles. This course does not provide procedures or information on how to do the job. Content: Overview of the System Life Cycle; the SW Life Cycle; and the SW Development Process. Course discusses FAA role in each area and presents high-level information on DO-178C, the guidance used by FAA to evaluate an applicant's software development. Method of instruction include lecture, student participation in practical exercises, collaborative discussions, and exams.
