This course is primarily designed for initial qualification and standardization of aviation safety inspectors and other agency flight personnel whose official duties require evaluating pilots flying make and model of airplane used at night using night vision goggles as a visual aid. NOTE: The Aviation Safety Inspector, Operations (ASI OPS) must hold at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate or an ATP certificate. The Flight Activity & Crew Tracking System (FACTS) must reflect the appropriate pilot qualifications. PREREQ: Must be EBC current in airplane prior to attendance, which includes a formal airplane flight course. NOTE: Due to the unique demands of NVG flight training, this course cannot be used to meet airplane category formal flight training. It will not count as a formal airplane category flight course for continued currency at the completion of this course.
