This course provides instruction for Aviation Safety Engineers and others involved in the certification of design changes to aeronautical products on determining and applying the latest airworthiness standards applicable for establishing the basis of certification for major changes to certified type designs. This course will review systematic procedures that consistently promote these standards, balanced by exceptions that recognize when earlier amendments are more appropriate. This course is essential training for understanding the scope of duties and obligations involved in the regulatory role of Aviation Safety Engineers and others concerning CPR. Method of instruction include lecture, student participation in practical exercises, collaborative discussions, and exams.Target Audience(s): FAA Aviation Safety Engineers in project officer, program manager or program engineer roles and others involved in the certification of design changes to aeronautical products.
