FAA27100172 Active
(27100172) Overview of Oceanic and International Operations
COURSE 2011-06-21
NOTE: This course was revised in May 2022. This 4-hour web based training can be taken as a stand-alone course, and is also a prerequisite to the classroom course - Oceanic and International Operations course (21000088). In this WBT, we provide an overview on various topics that touch on oceanic and international operations. These topics include: Basics of Navigation, FAA and ICAO Guidance Materials, Special Areas of Operations (SAOs), Operational Control, Performance-Based Requirements, Data Link, NextGen, Flight Planning, OpsSpecs, Fuel Requirements and Contingencies, Extended Operations (ETOPS), Equal Time Points (ETPs), En Route Contingencies, Oceanic Errors, Plotting Charts and Validating Operational Approvals. All of these topics will be touched on again in the classroom course with more in-depth coverage of the topics, so an ASI is better able to evaluate oceanic and international operations. We strongly recommend that each student take this WBT at least 30 days PRIOR to the classroom course. Each student MUST bring verification that this WBT was completed to get credit for completing the classroom course - Oceanic and International Operations (21000088). As a student, you will need this WBT overview course to be able to understand and participate in the classroom course practical exercises and knowledge tests.
